Azmacort
Azmacort inhalant is a treatment for asthma suffers that’s used to help reduce the number of asthma attacks. The Azmacort inhaler is not medication that is used as a fast acting inhaler if a breathing attack occurs, but rather is used as a preventative measure.
Azmacort, a corticosteroid inhaler works by reducing swelling in the airways that can bring on an asthma attack. Azmacort side effects can include: sinus inflammation, mild headaches, sore or hoarse throat and back pain. Severe reactions should be seen to immediately by a doctor. Severe reactions would include: difficulty breathing, fever or chills, hives, depression, fainting spells, thrush in the mouth and other severely uncomfortable or debilitating adverse reactions. If you are switching from an asthma, or breathing medication to Azmacort, speak to your doctor about safely switching without having a reaction from either abruptly stopping the steroid you are on, and without exceeding any maximum dosages of medications that can be found in both medicines.
It can take some time for you to feel the full benefits of this medication. Any health procedure including dental or medical operations should be preceded by your informing the doctor of your Azmacort treatment. This medication is not always recommended for breastfeeding or pregnant individuals. This medicine is often used for children above the age of six. Because of the steroid contents of this medicine, your doctor should watch the growth level of the child. Side effects of Azmacort can be troublesome for some but many people never experience any problems with this medication at all. If you experience side effects, talk to your doctor about either adjusting your dosage or finding another medication that may be more suited for you. Everyone reacts differently but generally, most people who take this medicine don’t have problems with it. The Azmacort spacer makes it easier to get the dosage.
Today, there seems to be more asthma sufferers than ever. While you should still keep your inhaler that you use for acute asthma attacks with you at all times, it’s less likely that you’ll have those acute attacks when you are using Azmacort proactively.
Asthma can be intermittent or persistent and be at varying degrees of severity. What are the symptoms of this disease? Asthma sufferers can have coughing, wheezing, tightness of the chest and difficulty breathing. Asthma can only be diagnosed by a healthcare provider so it’s not a good idea to self diagnose and use medication for your asthma without a prescription.
