Beconase AQ

Beconase AQ is a medication designed to give relief from nasal allergy symptoms or Rhinitis. It’s also used for recurring nasal polyps. Beconase AQ is a corticosteroid. There’s Beconase AQ nasal spray and a Beconase inhaler. Beconase AQ is considered by many to be a very effective treatment option for hay fever.

This medication should not be used by pregnant women. You may also not be able to take it if you have certain viral or bacterial infections. Talk to your doctor about any medications, illnesses or supplements you are taking prior to starting a course of treatment with Beconase nasal spray or inhalers. Beconase AQ should be shaken prior to each use and it works best if used on a regular basis.

Switching from an oral steroid to this product could result in temporary withdrawal symptoms. Talk to your doctor if this occurs. Steroids such as prednisone require a weaning period so be cautious about switching to or from this medication. Beconase side effects can include: foul taste in the mouth, hoarseness, nasal dryness, coughing or nausea. Severe reactions to this medication such as: hives, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, rash, taking Beconase + atrial fibrillation, nosebleeds, vision changes and/or wheezing need to be investigated by a medical professional immediately. Beconase AQ should be carefully stored between 15° and 30°C (59° and 86°F) to ensure its integrity.

With Nasonex compared to Beconase or other medication results will vary. Some people find very little difference between them and others have less sensitivity to side effects from one to the other. Some say that in Nasonex vs Beconase, the Beconase results in more nasal irritation. Some also compare Nasacort and Flixonase with one another and Beconase and Nasonex. From some sources, Nasonex was less expensive.

Your doctor and you will likely work with a few options to find the right allergy medication for you. Some products do have side effects but when weighed against the benefits they provide, some are worthwhile. It’s important when you take allergy medication for the first time to watch for any unusual symptoms or reactions. It’s a good idea to expect to rest for several hours when you take a medicine for the first time. Operating a motor vehicle or operating machinery is not advised as many allergy medications can cause drowsiness.
